Skjól Bistro & bar

Welcome to our cozy Icelandic country bistro & bar, located in the heart of the Golden Circle! We offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can unwind before or after your adventure and enjoy delicious food and drinks with friends and family.  

Skjól was built June 1, 2014 and was mainly a hangout for backpackers that where camping their way around Iceland. As the tourism in our beautiful country grew, so did the amount of guests to Skjól. Our restaurant and bar have 60 seatings and Skjól Camping offers all season camping with space for 800 campers and caravans. The campsite is located next to our restaurant. .

Our menu is carefully crafted to satisfy every craving, with homemade pizza, hamburgers, fish, chicken, salads and soups. 

In addition to mouthwatering food, we also offer a selection of Icelandic craft beers and cocktails that are sure to please even the most discerning palates. 

If you linger, you might hear some acoustic music being played. In Skjól our instruments are for everyone to play, and don´t be surprised if you hear:
“If you play three songs and get an applause, you´ll get a free beer on the house”
